Jim Cregan & The New Acoustic Band

A Note From Jim...

So last year, I thought it might be a wild idea to start a new band.

I wanted to create an intimate evening of stories and songs, taken from my so-called career as a writer, producer, guitarist and musical director. Ha!

So with old friends, Pat Davey on bass and Sam Tanner on piano, we started to play music from my first hit sessions. Starting with Murray Head, through Blossom Toes, Family, Cockney Rebel, Cat Stevens, Rod Stewart, and some of our own original songs.

But due to a nasty ironing board incident, Stuart Elliot, my old friend from Cockney Rebel, became available. So now we are four.

I foolishly mentioned to Neil Byford, my old comrade in arms, that I always wanted to work with a cellist. Miraculously Marion Fleetwood appeared, and so the New Acoustic Band was complete.

We laugh, tell stories and conjure up a certain magic that only comes with age, respect and friendship.

It's not a bad way to spend an evening.

So please come and join us and as my Mum used to say,

"Come and get it while it's hot!"

Cheers!

Jim.
